The Kennedy Space Center (KSC) is a spaceport and visitor complex located on Merritt Island, Florida, near Cape Canaveral.
The complex is home to several interactive experiences, rides and attractions that simulate the experience of space exploration.

Shuttle Launch Experience:
This simulator provides a realistic experience of what it feels like to launch into space aboard the Space Shuttle. It combines motion, audio, and visual effects to simulate the intense launch and ascent into orbit.

Views of Earth: As the simulation continues, visitors witness the breathtaking views of Earth from space. The visual effects display the Earth below, giving visitors a sense of the perspective astronauts experience during a real space mission.
Mission Accomplishment: The simulated launch culminates with the successful accomplishment of the mission objectives, whether it’s deploying a satellite, docking with the International Space Station (ISS), or other space-related tasks.

Astronaut Training Experience (ATX):
While not a traditional ride, the Astronaut Training Experience (ATX) offers hands-on training simulations that replicate the physical and mental challenges faced by astronauts.
Visitors can participate in activities such as walking on Mars, navigating a spacecraft, and performing a spacewalk.
Here’s what you can expect from the Astronaut Training Experience:
Training Simulations: The ATX provides participants with the opportunity to engage in simulated astronaut training activities. These activities may include tasks like navigating a spacecraft, operating robotic arms, conducting spacewalks, and practicing landing a spacecraft.
Mission Control Center: Participants may have the chance to experience the role of a flight controller in a simulated mission control environment. They can work together as a team to monitor the spacecraft, communicate with astronauts, and make critical decisions during a simulated space mission.
Virtual Reality Experiences: The ATX incorporates virtual reality (VR) technology to offer participants an immersive experience. They may be able to put on a VR headset and explore environments such as the International Space Station (ISS), the lunar surface, or Mars, providing a sense of what it would be like to be in those locations.
Astronaut Training Simulators: The ATX features a range of training simulators designed to replicate the conditions astronauts face. Participants may have the opportunity to try out simulators that mimic microgravity environments, spacecraft controls, or other equipment used in astronaut training.
Mission Briefings: Throughout the experience, participants receive mission briefings from real NASA astronauts or space experts. They share insights, stories, and knowledge about space travel, the challenges faced by astronauts, and the importance of teamwork and problem-solving.

Cosmic Quest:
This interactive game allows visitors to become “rookie astronauts” and complete a series of challenges across various space-themed stations. It offers a fun and educational experience for both kids and adults.

Interactive Game: Cosmic Quest is a game that takes participants on a space-themed mission, guiding them through a series of interactive stations or “Missions.” Each Mission focuses on a different aspect of space exploration, such as planetary science, rocket engineering, or astronaut training.
Hands-on Activities: Participants engage in hands-on activities and challenges at each Mission station. These activities often involve problem-solving, teamwork, and using interactive technology or exhibits.
Learning Experiences: While participating in Cosmic Quest, visitors have the opportunity to learn about various topics related to space exploration, including space science, engineering, and the challenges faced by astronauts. The experience is designed to be both entertaining and educational.
Game Progression: As participants complete each Mission, they earn points or badges that contribute to their overall progress in the game. The aim is to complete all the Missions and achieve the highest score possible.
Integration with the Visitor Complex: Cosmic Quest is typically integrated into the larger Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex experience. Participants may need to explore different areas of the complex to access the various Mission stations.
In addition to these rides and attractions, the complex also offers guided tours of the complex, astronaut encounters, space camp, NASA overnight experience, and the chance to touch a moon rock collected during the Apollo 17 mission.
